Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patient care across multiple hospitals and units. You will perform respiratory therapy, operate ventilators, and assist physicians with procedures under physician direction.

The role requires an accredited respiratory care program graduate with an associate degree, NBRC licensure or CRT, and AHA BLS certification. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license (NBRC) within 12 months OR CRT credential if prior to 2023.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA.

Responsibilities

• Support patient assessment using respiratory therapy and diagnostics.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and therapies as prescribed.
• Educate patients on purpose, technique, self-care, and disease management.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Collaborate with other departments and provide staff education as needed.
• Uphold safety standards and document patient handoffs clearly.
