Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care (AAS or higher) required.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.
• Less than 1 year acute care experience; registry eligible.
• MD/DC license to practice respiratory care; NBRC CRT required; RRT preferred.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS required within 1 year where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to safety standards.
• Assesses physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural dimensions and documents education needs.
• Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, spirometry, blood gas analysis.
• Uses therapeutic communication and problem-solving during patient care.
• Reviews EMR and physician orders during shifts.
• Responds to CPR and maintains airway, provides ventilation as needed.
• Promotes workflow efficiency and interdepartmental coordination.
• Follows policies and utilizes resources effectively.
