Qualifications

• Credentialed as an RRT by NBRC is required.
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery and related equipment and conducts prescribed procedures.
• Administers and monitors respiratory therapies and performs diagnostic procedures as policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates therapies, recommends plans of care and patient education needs.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs arterial blood gas sampling and analyses; interprets results with clinical implications.
• Works independently across patient care areas; proficient with EMR systems.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations.
