Atlantic Health in Pompton Plains, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide bedside care and life support under physician supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating prescriptions, administering aerosol therapies, operating ventilators, and monitoring treatments in a high-acuity setting.

Qualified candidates will hold an AS in Respiratory Therapy, NJ licensure, NBRC RRT within 12 months, and BLS; 1+ year CCU/PFT experience and EPIC proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program is required.
• Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
• 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience preferred.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing preferred.
• Current or past experience with EPIC charting preferred.
• Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey required; NBRC RRT credential required within one year of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification required; Advanced Life Support expected to have or obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and assess patient condition to determine therapy requirements.
• Render aerosol medications and treatments, position patients to aid breathing and prevent obstruction.
• Set up and operate devices such as ventilators and aerosol generators to support respiration.
• Monitor treatment parameters and patient responses, including gases and vital signs.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function tests as directed by physician.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety; consult physician for adverse reactions.
• Provide patient education and support for chronic lung disease.
