Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will monitor, wean oxygen therapy, perform ABG analyses, and assist with artificial airways according to policy.

Required qualifications include an Associate's degree, active Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days. NICU experience with NRP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• NRP Certification (NICU-trained therapists).
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on age-appropriate criteria.
• Maintains professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Other related duties as required.
