Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal through geriatric patients. You will perform routine and advanced therapies, monitor and document patient data, and educate patients and staff on treatment plans.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, an active Respiratory Therapist license in the state, NBRC CRT credential, and BLS. ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRt).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire (NICU staff may have additional requirements).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and clinical needs.
• Maintains professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in ongoing quality initiatives.
• Other related duties as required.
