Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory care, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will perform ABG analysis, monitor oxygen therapy, and assist with airway management per physician orders and established policies.

The role requires an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), current state license as a Respiratory Therapist, and BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Required - Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RBRC/NBRC) and current State license.
• BLS required; ACLS to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Computer and data-entry proficient; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced respiratory care procedures.
• Review and document clinical information for each patient.
• Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Provide age-appropriate care and adapt to patient needs.
