Job summary

Ochsner Health is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will monitor and wean oxygen therapy, draw and analyze ABG, and document clinical information according to policy.

Responsibilities include educational outreach to patients and staff, performing procedures, and maintaining current certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Current license as Respiratory Therapist in state of practice.
• Credentialed by NBRC as CRT; BLS required.
• NRP for NICU-trained therapists; ACLS required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced respiratory therapy procedures.
• Review and document all clinical information for each patient.
• Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures.
• Provide age-appropriate care.
• Maintain certifications and current knowledge of procedures.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
