Job summary

Ochsner Health in Baton Rouge is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, and certifications including CRT, BLS, and ACLS within 90 days of hire; NRP is required for NICU staff. You will maintain records and educate patients as part of a collaborative care team.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and staff on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Provides age-appropriate care across neonatal to geriatric populations.
• Maintains up-to-date professional certifications and knowledge.
• Attends staff meetings and contributes to quality improvement.
• Other related duties as required.
