Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AAS) or higher in respiratory care from an AMA accredited program.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.
• 0-3 years of acute care experience required.
• CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist required; RRT preferred; license to practice in DC.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to safety standards.
• Assesses patient needs and documents education requirements.
• Performs respiratory therapy treatments and equipment management (oxygen, humidification, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, lung expansion, spirometry, EKG, blood gas analysis).
• Maintains communication with patients and crisis intervention when needed.
• Reviews electronic medical records and physician orders during shifts.
• Responds to CPR events and supports airway management and ventilation.
