Job description

Salary: $50.00/hr weekdays | $53.00/hr weekends

Weekly Pay with benefit options

Shift Available: Sunday - Saturday

• 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

*6-Month Minimum Contract Assignment with option to extend

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Respiratory Therapist provides care, treatment, and general welfare for individuals with intellectual disabilities, complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.

• Conducts pulmonary function tests, interprets test results, creates treatment plans, administers inhalants, and operates respiratory equipment.
• Uses and has knowledge of respiratory equipment including: medical air compressor, nebulizer compressors, oxygen concentrator, tanks, regulators, pulse oximeters, suction machines, CPAP and BIPAP machines, EZ-PAP, oxygen devices, Ambu-bag, AED, ventilators, The vest, The MetaNeb, ECG machine, Cuff-a-lator, and Shiley Tracheostomy tubes.
• Completes computer data entry, reports, records, and documentation promptly.
• Adheres to facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet accreditation standards, specifically ICF-IDD Regulations.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Current certification or registration as a respiratory therapist by the Texas Medical Board.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid Photo ID.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• At least 2 years of experience.
• Not excluded from providing services to persons on Medicare and Medicaid.
• Knowledge of nursing techniques, health care laws, medical diagnoses, treatment patterns, community health, and program regulations and procedures.
