Job summary

Vibra Healthcare, LLC. in Merkel, TX seeks a Respiratory Therapist to setup and operate respiratory care equipment, under supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager and Lead Respiratory Therapist, to support diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease.

You will perform physician prescribed treatments, manage ventilators, document patient responses, and ensure safety and proper care under hospital policies. English proficiency and NBRC credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care as a CRT or RRT.
• High School graduate or equivalent and documentation of training for testing performed.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for adult or geriatric patients (18+).
• Explain procedures and educate patients and caregivers; document education.
• Perform physician prescribed treatments (nebulizers, oxygen, humidity, gases).
• Set up, operate and monitor ventilators; participate in ventilator weaning.
• Record treatments and patient responses; maintain respiratory care records.
• Perform tracheostomy care and tube changes per policy.
• Maintain ventilation during CPR and manage airway equipment.
• Assist in transporting and preparing patients for physical therapy.

Education

National Board for Respiratory Care CRT/RRT credential

High School diploma or equivalent
