Job summary

Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform routine and complex respiratory care procedures, including ventilator support, bronchoscopy assistance, gas therapy, and diagnostic testing. You will work with physicians and the care team to ensure safety and high-quality patient outcomes.

The role requires graduation from an approved respiratory care education program, NBRC-registered (RRT) and Texas licensure (RCP), plus BLS and ACLS credentials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• One year experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner preferred.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) and RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner - State Licensure - Texas are required; BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care procedures including arterial blood gas analysis, spirometry, ventilator support and medication administration.
• Provides direct patient care and collaborates with physicians and health professionals to ensure safety and quality care.
• Operates respiratory diagnostic tests and supports bronchoscopy and related procedures as applicable.
• Maintains accurate documentation and contributes to department quality and safety initiatives.
