Job summary

Methodist Hospital Hill Country is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will operate respiratory devices, provide emergency support, and monitor patient outcomes in collaboration with the care team.

The role requires graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program, Texas RCP license, NBRC CRT (or grandfathered CRT), and BLS; ACLS within 90 days and PALS/NRP within 90 days if required by the department.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas (RCP)
• CRT or Grandfathered CRT NBRC credential
• BLS required at hire; ACLS within 90 days
• PALS/NRP within 90 days if department requires

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up respiratory care devices (ventilators, gases, aerosols) per treatment parameters
• Provide emergency airway support and assist CPR as needed
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases; interpret results and intervene
• Follow physician orders; assess treatment type, mode and duration
• Monitor patient response via vitals, ABG, breath sounds, SpO2, capnography
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to adjust plan of care
