Responsibilities

• Serve as shift Charge Therapist, ensuring adequate staffing for patient care areas and next shift coverage.
• Assist physicians with procedures such as bronchoscopy and airway management as needed.
• Perform CPR following the AHA ACLS protocol and monitor patient responses to therapy.
• Assess patients and document findings; adjust therapies based on clinical data and physician orders.
• Set up and maintain ventilators and oxygen therapy to ensure adequate PaO2 and patient comfort.
• Instruct patients and families in incentive spirometry, MDI use, and home therapy when appropriate.
