Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to provide comprehensive respiratory care across multiple locations. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, education and evaluation of therapies with attention to patient progress and safety.

Responsibilities also cover supervising staff as Charge Therapist, ensuring adequate staffing, and collaborating with physicians to optimize treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree related to Respiratory Therapy or Healthcare preferred.
• Licensing: Current Respiratory Care License; NBRC credentialed; BLS/ACLS/PALS as required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care including oxygen delivery, meds, ventilator care and airway management.
• Monitor patient responses and modify therapy as needed.
• Serve as Charge Therapist to ensure staffing coverage for shifts.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and device use.
• Perform procedures like bronchoscopy assistance and arterial blood gas analysis per physician orders.
• Maintain equipment and document procedures in records.
