Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH. You will assess patients, plan and deliver respiratory therapies, monitor responses, and educate patients and families on treatment goals.

A valid Respiratory Care License and NBRC credential are required; BLS is essential, with ACLS/PALS preferred. The role supports acute and home care settings, using EPIC EHR and advanced respiratory equipment to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care License (required). NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Driver's license required for Home Care/DME.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care via assessment, planning, intervention, education and evaluation.
• Administer therapies (IPPB, oxygen, aerosol, chest PT) as ordered; monitor and adjust based on patient response.
• Perform arterial blood gas analysis and ABG interpretation; document vitals and therapy outcomes.
• Instruct patients/families on therapies and home care when applicable.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and tracheostomy procedures as needed.
