Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy per CoARC/CoARTE approved program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in IDFPR (Illinois).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from NBRC.
• BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• ACLS within 1 year (AHA).
• NRP within 1 year (AAP).
• PALS within 1 year (AHA).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care per physician orders and patient needs.
• Ventilator management and maintenance.
• Performs bedside lab testing (ABGs) and associated QC.
• Documents all therapy and patient care activities.
• Educates students and other health professionals about ventilator functions.
• Maintains current credentials and follows infection control policies.
