Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II for a PRN position. You will assess patients, plan and deliver respiratory therapies, and teach other team members. The role includes coordinating staffing as needed and supporting evidence-based care in a dynamic hospital setting.

Ideal candidates hold a state license with NBRC credentialing, and have 2+ years of experience. EPIC EHR familiarity and relevant certifications are preferred to ensure high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state of practice.
• NBRC credentialed is required.
• RRT preferred; other certifications may be recognized.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred at hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care.
• NRP preferred; required for specific Mercy Health facilities as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care in collaboration with the care team.
• Perform therapies per physician orders and explain goals to patients.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with safety and infection control.
• Set up and maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Act as preceptor to new team members and/or students.
• Respond to cardiopulmonary events and participate in resuscitation as needed.
