Job summary

Mercy Health in Tiffin is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to provide comprehensive respiratory care across assessment, planning, intervention, education and evaluation. The role may include shift leadership, staffing coordination and collaboration with physicians on procedures and patient care plans.

The position requires licensure, NBRC credentials, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and preferred EPIC EHR experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree related to Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working (required).
• NBRC credentialed (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support - AHA (required) and ACLS/ PALS (required).
• EPIC EHR training (preferred).

Responsibilities

• May serve as shift Charge Therapist overseeing staffing and assignments.
• Assist physicians with bronchoscopy and endotracheal procedures when needed.
• Perform CPR according to ACLS protocol and monitor patient response.
• Implement prescribed respiratory treatments and adjust based on patient status.
• Set up and monitor ventilators; ensure proper function and safety.
• May perform pulmonary function tests (PFT) as assigned.
• Act as preceptor to new staff or students.
• Assess patient status using exam techniques and review data in records.
• Instruct patients and families on incentive spirometry, MDI use, oxygen therapy, and home care.
