Job summary

HDR is seeking a strategic-minded Data Steward to shape how our data is defined, used, and reused across the Resources Business Group. This leadership role focuses on simplifying data, improving data reuse, and enabling better decisions company-wide.

Reporting to the Resources Business Group Technology Director, the role collaborates with HDR Data Operations and the Technology Leadership Team to deliver reliable analytics and insights for HDR’s enterprise data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of strategic leadership experience focused on growing, developing, and leading teams in change management and business data.
• Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industries is preferred.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from business classes and practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossary for key engineering and technical terms with business context.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, and lifecycle considerations).
• Lead a RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned across business classes and practices.
