Job summary

HDR is seeking a strategic Data Steward for the Resources Business Group to shape how data is defined, shared, and used across HDR's business classes and practices. This role focuses on making data simpler, more useful, and more connected to how HDR operates today and in the future.

The position reports to the Resources Business Group Technology Director and works with HDR Data Operations and the Technology Leadership Team to enable faster, more reliable decision-making using enterprise data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategic leadership for data initiatives.
• 15+ years delivering diverse data-focused solutions.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction.
• Experience in power/industrial/waste sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the RBG data point of contact and leverage SME expertise from our Business Classes and Practices.
• Develop and maintain data glossaries for key engineering terms with business context.
• Build alignment around data processes, priority, and expected use across teams.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, quality and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory, storage, lifecycle).
• Lead RBG SME network to align practices and share lessons learned across business classes and practices.
• Promote data fluency across the RBG.
• Communicate and collaborate with BG Data Stewards, Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations.
