Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate/RRT equivalent certification is required.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the applicable state.
• BLS required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery methods and related equipment and conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapies, understanding purpose and benefits and possible effects.
• Performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Maintains and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes plans of care and patient education recommendations.
• Documents therapy and results in EMR per department and regulatory requirements.
• Communicates treatment information to the healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies.
