Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Resource Pool. This on-site, full-time night-shift role offers exposure to Med Surg, ICU, and ED units with opportunities to work across departments.

Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS within 90 days. CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or EMT/Paramedic or Navy Hospital Corps School credentials are accepted; one year health care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum: CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic or Navy hospital corps school or clinical student in progression.
• Prior health care experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
