Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the 4 West Cardiac/Med/Surg unit, night shift (approx. 6pm–6am). The PCT will support admissions/discharges, observe patients, and work closely with RNs to deliver safe, quality care on a 24-bed unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent certification or program completed.
• NCPCT/NCMA/EMT or related clinical technician certifications acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of a nurse.
• Assist with admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients and report changes promptly to the nurse.
• Follow patient safety practices and unit protocols.
