Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg and Specialties unit on the night shift (approximately 6pm–6am). Responsibilities include providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting admissions and discharge, and ensuring patient safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with BLS certification within 90 days and one of several accepted certification pathways (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, etc.).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum requirements: must have one of the listed certifications such as CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or related programs.
• One year of prior health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support the admissions and discharge process and ensure patient safety practices.
• Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
