Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiac Unit on the night shift. The role runs 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a rotating weekends schedule, with three 12-hour shifts per week. The PCT provides care, monitors patients, and supports RN staff in a high-acuity environment.

Required are a High School Diploma or Equivalent and relevant certifications (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT). Experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and EMR/EMS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• CNA, NCMA, NCPCT certifications preferred.
• Past PCT/Nursing Assistant experience beneficial.
• EMR/EMS/EMT/Paramedic training advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and document any changes.
• Assist with mobility, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
• Perform EKG testing and basic point-of-care testing.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and IV removal.
