Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medicine unit. This full-time night-shift role supports patient care, vital signs, mobility, and phlebotomy under RN supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant certifications such as CNA/NCMA/NCPCT, with BLS within 90 days. Evening/weekend rotation may apply as part of shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent certification preferred.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with mobility, ambulation and safety.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
