Job summary

Terracon is seeking a dispatcher to determine the safest, most efficient way to allocate staff and equipment to project sites. You will manage service requests, dispatch trained personnel, and balance workloads while maintaining strong communication with field units and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes prioritizing projects by urgency, coordinating resources, and ensuring incident- and injury-free operations following Terracon guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to use basic technology (mobile apps, email, scheduling software, etc.).
• Time management skills.
• Interpersonal interaction skills.
• Multilingual preferred in some markets.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming communications and dispatch equipment and/or employees with appropriate skills to precise locations at necessary times.
• Learn to prioritize projects and manage logistics according to urgency and importance.
• Relay information and instruction to employees, their managers, and other project stakeholders as appropriate.
• Be the hub for the department and maintain communication with field units to coordinate schedules.
• Dispatch in a safety-conscious manner to keep employee wellbeing a priority.
• Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders.
• Develop negotiation strategies to manage resource conflicts among employees, clients and leadership.
• Use dashboard/tools to distribute employees and balance workload.
• Support other office duties and meet deadlines.
