Job summary

Terracon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a dispatcher to efficiently allocate staff and equipment to project sites in the Virginia Beach area. You will manage incoming service requests, assign personnel with the right skills, and coordinate with field units to optimize schedules.

You will communicate with multiple stakeholders, balance workloads using CMELMS and other tools, and ensure safety guidelines are followed in all dispatch activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant dispatch or logistics experience.
• Ability to use technology (mobile apps, email, scheduling software, etc.).
• Time management skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Interpersonal interaction skills.
• Multilingual preferred in some markets.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch employees with appropriate skills or certifications to precise locations at required times.
• Prioritize projects and manage logistics (equipment, internal logistics) per urgency and importance.
• Relay information and instruction to employees, managers, labs and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with field units to plan and prioritize schedules day-to-day.
• Dispatch in a safe, incident-free manner following Terracon guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders.
• Use materials dashboard, CMELMS, and other tools to distribute employees and balance workload.
• Perform other duties and assist colleagues to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate between regional offices to cover projects.
• Manage resource conflicts among employees, clients, and leadership using negotiation strategies.
• Follow safety rules and report issues; contribute to quality standards on all projects.
