Job summary

Terracon is seeking a skilled Dispatcher to determine the safest, most efficient way to dispatch employees and equipment to project sites. The role handles incoming service requests and assigns staff with the right skills or certifications.

Responsibilites include prioritizing logistics, relaying instructions to field teams and stakeholders, coordinating with regional offices, and upholding Terracon’s safety and quality standards in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
• Ability to use technology (mobile apps, email, scheduling software, etc.)
• Time management skills
• Negotiation skills
• Interpersonal interaction skills
• Multilingual preferred in some markets
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming calls and dispatch employees with appropriate skills or certifications to precise locations at necessary times.
• Prioritize projects and manage logistics (equipment, internal logistics) according to urgency and importance, using negotiation skills when conflicts arise.
• Relay information and instruction to employees, their managers, labs and other project stakeholders as appropriate.
• Coordinate with field units to optimize schedules day-to-day.
• Dispatch in a safety-conscious manner following Terracon’s guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders.
• Use materials dashboard, CMELMS and other tools to distribute employees and balance workload.
• Perform other office duties and meet deadlines as needed.
• Coordinate between regional offices to cover projects.
• Manage resource conflicts among employees, clients and leadership using negotiation strategies.
• Follow safety rules and perform pre-task planning; report safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
