Job summary

Terracon in Winterville, NC seeks a Dispatch Manager to lead a team responsible for the safest, most efficient deployment of employees and equipment to project sites. You will support team members as they handle internal and external service requests to dispatch trained staff.

You will direct work activities, provide training and feedback, oversee hiring decisions, and coordinate with customers, field units, and office leadership to balance workload and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent negotiation abilities.
• Multilingual preferred in some markets.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the work activities of the dispatch team, providing training and oversight.
• Train dispatchers to negotiate and manage resource conflicts.
• Mentor other dispatchers in the region or company.
• Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders.
• Dispatch for diverse teams using advanced technology and systems.
• Ensure dispatchers handle calls and assign staff with the right skills/certifications.
• Prioritize projects and manage logistics based on urgency and importance.
• Relay information to employees, managers and stakeholders.
• Maintain daily schedules by coordinating with field units.
• Dispatch safely, following Terracon guidelines and promoting safety.
• Use dashboards and tools to balance workload across staff.
• Collaborate with managers to meet deadlines.
• Develop awareness of project risks and risk policies.
• Lead safety efforts and model a safe work environment.
• Promote continuous quality monitoring and project improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
