Job summary

Sun Outdoors at Sussex, NJ is seeking a Resort Maintenance Manager to oversee grounds, facilities and equipment across the resort. You will supervise maintenance teams, coordinate inspections and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will manage inventory, work with contractors, and support move-in readiness and capital projects. Strong supervisory and maintenance skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 years in general maintenance techniques, repair work, and groundskeeping.
• 1 year in supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing, construction, pool and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient with hand tools and power equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and train staff.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, email, internet).
• Ability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours.

Responsibilities

• Follows-up on work assignments to ensure completion of work orders.
• Performs water testing and other maintenance duties related to water systems.
• Oversees maintenance of grounds, clubhouses, pools, streets, and landscaping.
• Assists with selection of contracted services and supervises on-site contractors.
• Completes regular inspections of resident sites.
• Ensures safety procedures and proper use of safety equipment.
• Oversees move-in procedures and exterior maintenance of model homes.
• Coordinates team member selection and development.
• Prioritizes service requests and maintains maintenance logs.
• Establishes on-call emergency maintenance.
• Maintains inventory and budget adherence.
• Meets with RV Resort Manager to report progress and issues.
