Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf is seeking a part-time bartender for V’s Taproom and the Golf Shop area in Peoria, AZ. You will prepare beverages, greet guests, and provide exceptional hospitality, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

The role requires prior bartending experience, ability to handle cash, and knowledge of pos techniques. Benefits include health plans for full-time staff and 401(k) eligibility after 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• One year experience bartending, in a resort facility preferred.
• Must meet the state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol.
• Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to calculate discounts, and percentages.
• Ability to contribute to a productive and friendly work environment by maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to speak effectively and present information to another person and in small group situations with guests and team members.
• Ability to provide direction to coworkers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums.
• Must be able to pay attention to details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality by knowing the resort and dining areas.
• Maintain high standards of food service and quality to meet guest expectations.
• Greet and serve guests with energy and enthusiasm; take beverage preferences and make recommendations.
• Check IDs to ensure legal drinking age.
• Report safety issues or guest concerns to a supervisor.
• Balance cash and transactions; balance the cash register.
• Take inventory and order liquors and supplies within budget.
• Maintain a clean, safe bar area and assist in other Food & Beverage functions.
