Job summary

GFL is seeking a CDL driver to operate residential and recycling collection trucks on assigned routes in the United States. You will load waste and recyclables, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness while ensuring compliance with all regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a CDL, and at least one year of commercial driving experience. The role may require overtime and frequent interaction with customers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate
• Ability to follow safety policies and operate heavy vehicles
• Good communication with customers and internal teams

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes
• Load waste and recyclables into the truck and ensure proper containment
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and reporting of mechanical issues
• Identify prohibited waste items and ensure safe handling
• Follow safety rules, wear PPE, and adhere to company policies
• Coordinate with supervisor to improve routing efficiencies and performance
• May work overtime as needed and attend safety meetings
