Job summary

The Arc in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to help individuals with intellectual disabilities live independently and participate in their communities. You will provide daily living support, assist with personal care, meals, and transportation, while documenting progress and coordinating with the team to ensure safety and well‑being.

Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am–2:00 pm or 2:00 pm–10:00 pm, with a sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Instruct residents in basic self-care and independent living skills.
• Assist with hygiene, grooming, and personal care.
• Administer medications as prescribed and per regulations.
• Assist with meals, laundry, and transportation to activities.
• Document incidents, activity notes, and other required reports.
• Support residents in community activities and recreation.
• Build positive relationships and advocate for individuals we support.
