Job summary

The Arc of Madison County is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily living, self-care, and community activities in Huntsville, AL. You will monitor progress, document care, assist with meals and hygiene, and accompany residents to programs and events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and instructing residents per the plan.
• Assist with documentation, incident reports, charts, and daily logs.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, dressing, and self-care.
• Administer medications as prescribed and per regulations.
• Support residents in completing household duties and meals.
• Transport residents to activities and appointments.
• Encourage recreational activities and community engagement.
• Advocate for individuals and model appropriate social interactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment and report repairs.
