Job summary

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered support in residential, community, or program settings, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.

You will assist with daily living activities, meals, transportation, and community participation, document progress, maintain safety and confidentiality, and work with supervision to support individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21+ for positions requiring driving.
• Valid Alabama driver's license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
• Sign-on Bonus: $500 at 6-months and $500 at 1-year.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities and personal care as needed.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping, transportation, and community participation.
• Observe, document services, progress, and incidents accurately.
• Encourage skill-building, choice, and independence.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Communicate observations with supervisors and team members.
