Job summary

The Arc of Madison County, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to instruct basic self-care and independent living skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them participate actively in their communities.

You will follow individual support plans, assist with hygiene, meals, transportation, and daily tasks, document activities, and advocate for residents in community settings while maintaining safety and respect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read safety rules and write routine reports.
• Able to communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Instruct residents in self-care and activities per support plans.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, dressing, and personal care.
• Administer medications as prescribed per regulations.
• Transport residents to day programs, appointments, and activities.
• Prepare and serve meals and manage household tasks per posted plans.
• Document incidents, activity notes, seizure charts, and logs.
