Job summary

Avalon Housing is seeking a part‑time Residential Support Specialist in Ann Arbor, MI. You will check visitors in/out, monitor security, and coordinate services for residents at Miller Manor, ensuring safety and adherence to program rules.

The role requires the ability to respond to crises, work with diverse individuals, and maintain clear communication with staff and outside providers. Training and on‑site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work well with diverse people in a non‑judgmental way.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills: email, online documentation.

Responsibilities

• Check visitors in and out, answer phones and monitor security systems.
• Maintain safety and security of residents by monitoring access areas and enforcing rules.
• Intervene in crises and respond to emergencies; contact emergency response systems as needed.
• Coordinate services for tenants and contact outside service providers as necessary.
• Work cooperatively with staff on-site and with visiting service providers; refer tenants to clinical staff as needed.
• Initiate maintenance requests and attend staff meetings or trainings.
