Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a Residential Services Leader to oversee the residence, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services. You will supervise Direct Support Professionals and collaborate with nurses, MAP, BIS, and external partners to support medical and clinical plans for residents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in residential services, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Valid Driver’s License from NY, NJ, PA or CT with 6 points or less.
• Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities and ability to develop individualized life plans.
• Regulatory knowledge of Medicaid regulations, licensing requirements, and related standards.
• Budget management, including overseeing residence funds and petty cash.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with families, staff, and partners.
• Crisis management and incident documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to Direct Support Professionals, ensuring adherence to policies and person-centered practices.
• Collaborate with MAP, nurses, BIS and team to support medical and clinical care plans and meetings.
• Develop and retain a strong DSP workforce through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
• Respond to requests from S&Q, Centralized Schedulers, DQI Survey; ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
• Coordinate with external agencies, families, and healthcare providers for comprehensive services.
• Implement emergency preparedness protocols to protect residents during crises.
• Maintain compliance with OPWDD regulations and readiness for audits or site visits.
• Build relationships with individuals, staff, and stakeholders to promote inclusive opportunities.
