Job summary

BayMark Health Services in San Antonio, TX seeks a Recovery Support Specialist for residential treatment facilities. You will observe patients hourly, document notes in the EMR, and guide patients to attend groups and appointments.

Responsibilities include room checks, sign-in oversight, and safe transport when needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, confidentiality, and driving eligibility with a valid license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization.
• Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
• Understanding of the Agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
• Previous experience working with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Employment contingent upon clear UDS and criminal history record.
• Good inter-personal skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation, along with current auto liability insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements set by the State.
• Initial and on-going MVR verification and must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with BayMark’s policy F&A-115.
• Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
• Satisfactory drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete hourly observation checks on a patient assigned to the Recovery Support Specialist.
• Complete EMR notes during the proper shift location in a timely manner.
• Assist with transporting patients to hospital and off-site appointments.
• Monitor patients during group activities and ensure attendance and safety.
• Provide educational and support groups for patients.
• Process intakes and discharges along with paperwork.
• Stock the supply closet and maintain call logs.
