Job summary

HealthRIGHT 360’s 214 Men’s Residential Step Down (MRSD) program in San Francisco seeks a Recovery Coach to assess client needs, support sobriety, and guide clients through the next stage of recovery. The role emphasizes crisis intervention, case management, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

The Recovery Coach will engage clients with individual coaching, record progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• DHCS registration or certification is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Valid California Driver’s License and car insurance required.
• Experience with diverse populations and recovery-oriented services is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct services such as intakes, assessment, crisis intervention, and case management as needed.
• Facilitates individual coaching sessions with each caseload client.
• Supports clients in meeting long-term recovery goals.
• Links clients to internal and external resources and follows up on progress.
• Performs house runs to ensure safety and accountability of all clients and facility.
• Conducts crisis intervention and communicates with the treatment team as needed.
• Documents client updates in the facility log daily and performs CPR/First Aid as needed.
• Facilitates community meetings and ensures compliance with facility rules.
• Documents all client updates and incidents daily in the facility log.
• Performs periodic house runs to maintain safety and security of the facility.
• Distributes client money when assigned and ensures medications are securely stored and accounted for.
• Accompanies clients to offsite recovery appointments.
• Attends required trainings and meetings; plans client celebrations and events.
• Recovery staff must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Collaborates to develop transition plans and progress notes; completes discharge paperwork and required assessments.
