Job summary

ColumbiaCare Services, Inc. is seeking a Residential Peer Support Specialist to join our Brookings, OR programs.

The role welcomes residents at admission, provides compassionate support, and guides them toward self-determined goals within the residential treatment setting. Responsibilities include one-to-one conversations, building trust, and coordinating peer groups while participating in crisis de-escalation training.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) registered with Oregon Health Authority (OHA).
• Experience in peer-support or recovery-focused conversations preferred.
• Ability to support residents and facilitate peer groups.

Responsibilities

• Meet residents at admission and help them feel welcomed.
• Conduct one-to-one conversations to build trust and support self-set goals.
• Facilitate and coordinate peer groups to discuss recovery stories.
• Undergo crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings and apply techniques as needed.
• Engage with residents to connect with community peer support networks.
