Job summary

ColumbiaCare Services is seeking a Residential Peer Support Specialist to join our team across Bell Cove RTH, Coos Crisis Resolution Center, and Cedar Bay RTH in Brookings, Coos Bay, and North Bend, Oregon. You will welcome new residents at admission, offer compassionate support, and help individuals articulate personal goals while in the program.

Qualifications

• Have personal experience with mental health challenges.
• Be Certified and Registered as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Responsibilities

• Meet each new resident at admission to the program and support the individual in feeling welcome and articulate goals.
• Engage in one-to-one conversations with residents to build trust and connect with recovery in a supportive manner.
• Facilitate and coordinate peer groups where residents discuss recovery stories and challenges.
• Receive crisis de-escalation training and perform related hands-on procedures as needed.
