Qualifications

Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services.
Valid driver’s license and agency minimum automobile coverage required.
Must complete state-approved training and certification as a Certified Peer Specialist when applicable.

Responsibilities

Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies.
Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections.
Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems.
Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengths.
Participate as a valued member of the treatment team.
Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function.
Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes.
