Job summary

Regions Bank in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans through a branch network. You will guide borrowers from application through underwriting, ensuring compliance and timely processing.

Primary responsibilities include evaluating loan requests, collecting documents, structuring loans, and building relationships with realtors, builders, and financial planners to grow business.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
• NMLS registration is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, conveying progress and obtaining required documentation.
• Structures loan to comply with lending practices and regulations.
• Develops marketing plans and networks with potential customers and partners.
• Cross-sells bank products and services.
• Reads surveys and appraisals and addresses issues.
• Participates in professional/community networking to promote loan products.
