Job summary

Regions Bank in Birmingham, AL seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans across a branch network. You will complete applications, analyze credit data, and maintain client relationships while promoting Regions’ loan products.

This full-time role is commission-based, with regulatory NMLS registration required. Candidates should have a HS diploma, mortgage experience, and strong sales/communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Extensive external business development via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners) in the market.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, communicating progress and obtaining documentation.
• Structures loan to comply with lending practices and Federal regulations.
• Develops a detailed marketing plan including potential and existing loan customers and frequency of contact.
• Responds to customer calls and walk-in discussions about loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing customers.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reads surveys/apraisals and addresses encroachments/violations.
• Participates in networking to promote and market loan products.
