Job summary

Citi in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high-quality residential real estate loans. You will consult with clients, analyze credit information, and recommend lending solutions while collaborating with internal partners to grow the mortgage book.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, 3+ years in mortgage sales, and a bachelor’s degree. Salary range is disclosed and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• 3+ years mortgage sales experience required.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• Established book of business.
• Proven product sales capability is required.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
• Ability to communicate with customers about required documents.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about their financial situation and lending needs to help achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze information about customers’ finances, goals, risk tolerance, and credit history.
• Analyze financial information to assess loan qualification and suitable lending solutions.
• Make recommendations on lending solutions to meet financial objectives.
• Promote Citi’s lending services to clients and referral sources.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure smooth loan application processing.
• Work with processors/closers to ensure timely loan closings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Realtors, CPAs, builders and other referrers.
