Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in San Jose is seeking a Mortgage Lending Officer to originate high quality residential real estate loans and build strong client relationships. You will consult with clients, analyze finances, and guide them through lending options while coordinating with processors and underwriters.

The role emphasizes collaboration with retail partners and referral sources, ownership of sales targets, and adherence to lending regulations as part of Citi’s home lending team.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• 3+ years mortgage sales experience required.
• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• Established book of business.
• Proven product sales capability is required.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain financial calculations and pricing.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws including RESPA.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial needs and lending goals.
• Collect and analyze financial information and credit history.
• Assess qualification for lending solutions and recommend options.
• Promote Citi’s lending services to clients and referral sources.
• Coordinate with Operations, Processors and Underwriters to close loans.
• Develop relationships with Realtors and other referrers.
• Maintain knowledge of market trends and regulatory changes.
